Freedom Forum condemns the arrest of 2 persons who were involved in waving black flag to the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The incident occurred on 19 June at Kalanki of Kathmandu District.
The arrested two from the Kalanki are detained at Kalimati Police Station.
Showing black flag for the dissatisfaction is a universal way of peaceful protest that should not be considered a criminal offense. Freedom Forum condemns the arrest as it has violated citizens' right to peaceful protest. It is indeed the violation of freedom of expression and such constitutional right of the citizen must not be breached. The police should immediately release the arrestees.
