Freedom Forum is deeply concerned over incident of threat issued against journalist Shree Ram Rayamajhi, subeditor of Janapratibimba daily, Parsa- Mid Terai district of Nepal on January 25.
An unknown person issued threat to journalist Rayamajhi over phone saying he will kill latter within three days. An Indian mobile number (918603390558) was used to threaten Rayamajhi. The person accused Rayamajhi of writing news rampantly which caused the caller to intimidate him for news coverage.
According to him threat was issued by calling him while working in the evening time at the office of newspaper.
Freedom Forum condemns the incidents of intimidation issued to journalist. The Forum asks the local administration to investigate into the incidents and bring the guilty parties to book to discourage press freedom perpetrators.
