An unidentified group issued life threats to Chairperson of Women Journalist Alliance, Parsa Chapter, Rasana Dhakal. She made it public that threats of life were frequently issued to her since the last year. Unknown groups gave her warnings via telephone that they would kidnap her from anywhere and pour burning chemicals on her body, she added.
Dhakal is the journalist at-work in Narayani Today published from Birgunj, the southern part of Nepal.
Terming the incident as a naked attack on press freedom and a deliberate act to prevent journalists from expressing their views and people from knowing the fat, Freedom Forum deplores the act and asks the government to not be a mute spectator when journalists are murdered, harassed and obstructed due to their works.
