THT scribe issued death threat

A group of Maoist cadres led by Unified CPN-Maoist’s district member Kuber Prasad Bhetwal has threatened THT Sankhuwa-sabha correspondent Kishor Budhathoki with death.

“Following the coverage of FSU election in the district, the group — including Bhetwal and Manju Sapkota — threatened me with death in case I did not leave the district,” Budhathoki said, adding Bhetwal had been pressing him to join the Revolutionary Journalists’ Association. Sapkota is chairman of the RJA’s district chapter.
Budhathoki has fled to Dharan and is taking shelter at his friend’s house. Maoists’ district secretary Rajendra Karki refused to comment.
